NURSING SERVICES
Nursing services are provided under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Nursing Services is staffed with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (Health Care Technicians). 

DENTAL SERVICES
The Center is equipped with its own dental clinic which is staffed on a part-time basis by licensed Dentists. Routine dental hygiene services are regularly performed by Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center staff and a Registered Dental Hygienist.

MEDICAL SERVICES
The health care of each resident is under the supervision of Attending Physicians who have responsibility for evaluating the immediate and long-term medical needs of the residents. For acute medical care and surgical inpatient hospital services, the Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center utilizes the services of Wilson Medical Center. Other hospitals are used on an as needed basis.

NUTRITIONAL SERVICES
A dietetic service that meets the daily nutritional needs of the residents is operated under the supervision of a Nutritional Director and two full-time Registered Dietitians. Nutritional Services ensures that special diet needs are met and provides meals that are pleasing to the taste and in appearance.

SOCIAL WORK SERVICES
Each resident’s emotional and/or social needs are considered in relation to his/her plan of care. Trained professionals provide social work and aftercare services as indicated.

Resident Activities
Leisure activities ensure that each resident is able to spend his/her time in ways that are as fun, entertaining, and engaging as possible, and thereby help residents avoid loneliness, helplessness and boredom. Recreation therapy, provided by Licensed Recreational Therapists, focuses on improving residents’ functioning and independence as well as reducing or eliminating the effects of illness.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
An on-site Laboratory and X-Ray Department provide diagnostic services. Services that cannot be provided through the on-site Laboratory and X-Ray Department are furnished by other medical facilities in the area.

RESTORATIVE SERVICES
A resident’s treatment goals and expected rehabilitative potential are indicated by the Attending Physician at the time of the resident’s admission. Treatment planning and service provisions are provided by a team of qualified professionals. Specific restorative services are carried out under the direction, and only upon the written order, of the Attending Physician. These orders include the types of treatment to be employed, the frequency of treatment and the anticipated goals of treatment. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and related special therapy services are provided under the immediate supervision of appropriately trained and qualified therapists who are credentialed as required by State law.

PHARMACEUTICAL SERVICES
Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center employs full-time Registered Pharmacists to supervise pharmaceutical services. Medications which are appropriate to address the needs of each resident are stocked on-site.
